Another travel adventure in the works, in literally the next few days! Woo hoo! I am off to Amsterdam for the long weekend (this Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday), with one of my best friends, Travis (see photo below). Its going to be loads of fun!
On the vague list of plans/ideas we as of now, take a looksie below to see what we will be seeing/doing/eating....
We will take a day trip from Amsterdam to the WORLD-famous tulip garden, Keukenhof. These gardens are in bloom just 6 weeks or so out of the entire year. People travel from literally all over the world to come see the explosion of colorful splendor they boast. I am SO excited for this! See below...

And of course, for those of you who know me, food is a necessary and eagerly anticipated part of the plan. Here are the Dutch items on my must-eat list:

| Poffertjes. Tiny sweet, fluffy Dutch pancakes. |
 |
| Ontbijtkoek. A dense, delicious, sweet gingerbread that the Dutch often eat for breakfast. |

| Tampouce. A delectable cream filled Dutch pastry with rose colored icing. |
 |
| Kibbeling, a battered and fried fish (usually cod) served with a mayonnaise-lemon type of sauce on the side. Apparently a really big thing in Amsterdam. |
 |
| Cheese, of course. Apparently the Dutch are known for it. One of my favorite cheeses, Gouda, originates from here! |
And finally, a couple of restaurants I am really itching to try (both with supposedly awesome food and great atmosphere)....
